Aprub kay Chief! Eleazar coordinating with SC for police body cams
The Philippine National Police is all ears in crafting policies on the use of body-worn cameras during law enforcement operations.
PNP Chief Guillermo Eleazar said the Supreme Court’s recent order for body cameras already involved the police forces, and will be refined further in additional guidelines under study.
He was reacting to a call made by abogado group CenterLaw for cops to respect human rights with or without body cameras on them.
A PNP technical working group has been in talks to lay down more specific guidelines patterned after the high court’s order.
