Anyone found to be liable for any wrongdoing should face the consequences of their actions, Malacañang said on Monday amid the filing of a plunder case against ex-Speaker and Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace press officer Claire Castro made the remarks in a press briefing shortly after the filing of charges against the cousin of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. before the Sandiganbayan.

Malacañang respects the Ombudsman’s move to file charges against Romualdez in connection with the flood control controversy.

Castro said she has yet to ask Marcos about his sentiments about the filing of charges against his cousin.

In his State of the Nation Address, the President announced that charges would be pursued even against his cousin amid the flood control mess.
