Vice President Sara Duterte said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is the problem besetting the country and called on him to resign as she faced supporters outside the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.
Duterte was at the court for her arraignment in her grave threats case, which has been deferred.
The case stems from her statement in an online press conference that she told somebody to kill the President, the First Lady, and the former Speaker if she were killed.
Speaking before her supporters, the Vice President accused Marcos, her 2022 running mate, of being abusive.
“Tandaan ninyo, patuloy tayong manawagan ng paglayas ng problema ng ating bayan na ang pangalan ay Bongbong Marcos. Resign. Umalis ka dyan! Sinungaling ka, abusado ka,” she said
She also claimed that he disregarded the people who voted for him.
“Wala siyang utang na loob sa taongbayan. Wala siyang utang na loob sa lahat ng pumunta ng presinto para iluklok siya sa pwesto. Wala siyang hiya. Ganoon talaga kapag adik. Hindi na dumadaan sa realidad ang pag-iisip. Patuloy tayong makipaglaban sa mga abusado, sa mga adik, at sa mga korap,” she said.
She called on the people to continue the fight against abusive and corrupt officials.
Marcos and Duterte ran under the same ticket in 2022, but their alliance started crumbling in 2023, leading to the Vice President’s resignation from the cabinet in June 2024.
