Walang alam? Aegis Juris frat men plead not guilty to killing Atio via hazing
Ten members of the Aegis Juris Fraternity on Tuesday pleaded not guilty for the hazing death of freshman law student Horacio Tomas “Atio” Castillo III during their arraignment before a Manila court.
Ralph Trangia, Marcelino Bagtang, Arvin Balag, Mhin Wei Chan, Axel Munro Hipe, Oliver John Audrey Onofre, Joshua Joriel Macabali, Robin Ramos, Jose Miguel Salamat and Danielle Hans Matthew pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned before Manila RTC Branch Presiding Judge Marivic Balisi Umali for violation of Republic Act 8049 or the Anti-Hazing Law and obstruction charges.
After their arraignment, the respondents through their respective counsels asked the court to be allowed to post bail for their temporary liberty.
The court set the next hearing of the case on August 14 where the presiding judge will hear their plea for bail.
Castillo died of “severe blunt traumatic injuries” after allegedly undergoing the initiation rites of the Aegis Juris fraternity in September last year.
