Acosta still hopeful to get P19. 5M for lab upgrade
Public Attorney’s Office Persida Acosta on Thursday remained hopeful that the Senate would still approve the P19. 5 million budget intended for her agency’s forensic laboratory upgrade.
“We are hopeful that the forensics laboratory will still get the budget meant to fund its equipment,” Acosta said
Recently, Acosta expressed disappointment after learning that the PAO’s forensic laboratory upgrade won’t get the needed P19.5 million budget.
“It was a sad day for the PAO forensics team and its clients,” Acosta said.
“The P19.5 million budget by President Duterte for the PAO forensic laboratory equipment was transferred by senators to the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation),” she continued.
She stressed PAO needs the funding so it could continue conducting autopsies for the public specifically for those who died after receiving anti-dengue vaccine Dengvaxia.
“Bakit sobrang api kami,” she asked.
