Sneaky sneaky! Law student points out removal of SC powers in new constitution
This aspiring abogado spots an alarming amendment being proposed by the House of Representatives. In the document, the Supreme Court is about lose their power of keeping the government in check.

The abogado aspirant noted that the problematic clause is found on the Article VIII of the amended document. The article tackles the power and mandate of the Judiciary in a federal form of government.
The law sudent is quick to point out that if passed, the SC loses any right to check for grave abuse in any part of government. It also removes the right from the high court to probe any “excess of jurisdiction.”
