No small vote for Gregorio Larrazabal
Former Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal reminds everyone in his latest column: Your vote counts, even in the barangay elections.
In a Twitter status to promote his column, the abogado reminded the public about the deadline for local Comelec offices nationwide, except for Marawi City, to post the certified list of voters for the upcoming Barangay & SK elections on May 18, 2018.
“History will bear me out when I say that barangay elections in the Philippines are the most flexible,” he wrote in his column.
“The law says that it is the most basic local government unit that directly connects to the people and is thus fundamental in representing our voice. But its role and function is commonly nebulous, unless you need to complain about your erring neighbor or obtain a clearance for city permits,” he added.
‘Wag sayangin ang boto!
Just a reminder –
Today is the deadline for local @COMELEC offices nationwide (except Marawi City) to post the Certified List of Voters for the upcoming May 14, 2018 Barangay & SK elections.
