No bail! Court orders arrest of presidential kumpadre Peter Lim
The Makati City regional trial court on Tuesday ordered the arrest of presidential kumpadre and Cebu businessman Peter Lim on charges of conspiracy to commit illegal drugs trade which is non-bailable.
The arrest warrant was issued after the Department of Justice found probable cause to indict him along with several others for violation of Section 26(b) in relation to Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Likewise subjects of the arrest warrant were self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa, who is already in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation, Marcelo Adorco and Ruel Malindangan.
“After a careful evaluation of the Information and the supporting
evidence, the Court finds that it has jurisdiction over the subject matter or the Information and that probable cause exist to hold accused Peter Go Lim, Rilad Espinosa a.k.a “Kerwin,” Marcelo Adorco
and Ruel and Ruel S. Malindagan,” Makati RTC Branch 65 Presiding Judge Gina
Bibat-Palamos in an order said.
Judge Palamos also set the arraignment of all of the accused this August 28 at 1:30pm when they will be asked if they plead guilty or not guilty over the charges.
