Govt tells court to cancel bail bonds of 3 NDF consultants
State prosecutors have formally asked the Manila regional trial court to cancel the bail bonds and order the arrests of National Democratic Front (NDF) consultants Wilma Tiamzon, Benito Tiamzon, and Edilberto Silva who were released from detention so they could join the peace negotiations with the government.
In a motion for recommitment and cancelation of bail, state prosecutors urged the Manila RTC Branch 32 to cancel the consultants’ bail bond because President Duterte has already terminated the peace talks with the Communist Party of the Philippines.
Previously, Solicitor General Jose Calida said they will file a manifestation and motion with the Supreme Court (SC) and the regional trial courts where the criminal cases of the NDF consultants are pending seeking for their arrest and detention.
The Tiamzon couple are facing multiple murder and kidnapping charges before the Manila and Quezon City regional trial courts.
