Bad news for Bongbong. SC nixes Caguioa’s plea to re-raffle electoral protest
The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday turned down the request of Associate Justice Benjamin Caguioa to assign a new member-in-charge in the electoral protest of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. against Vice President Leni Robredo.
This as the SC sitting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) denied Caguioa’s plea for a re-raffle of the case.
Marcos wants Caguioa to inhibit totally in his electoral protest citing alleged biases.
But instead of inhibiting, Caguioa asked PET for a re-raffle to give the supervision and control of the historic recount to another justice.
If granted, Caguioa would still enjoy his voting rights
